Work has begun on the Digital Photogrammetry Course applied to Cultural Heritage, 2024, in person mode.

Today, April 24, 2024, at the facilities of the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas, work began on the 2024 edition of the Digital Photogrammetry Course for Cultural Heritage, which will be held in person. The event was inaugurated by authorities from the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the State of Zacatecas, the Zacatecan Institute of Culture "Ramón López Velarde", the Municipality of Zacatecas, specifically from the area of urban development, as well as the National Institute of Anthropology and History.

The course participants, from the aforementioned institutions, were selected from the successful call for applications published by the Category 2 Center located in Zacatecas in 2023. Unlike the 2023 edition, which was aimed at the Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean region, this course has been specifically aimed at Zacatecan professionals, with the aim of helping to enhance their capacities in the documentation of monumental heritage, which is also a task of the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas.

During the course, jointly organized by the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas and the National Institute of Anthropology and History, participants will learn the use and knowledge of photogrammetry, focusing on the three-dimensional digitalization of real estate. The course, which will take place on April 24, 25, 26, 29, and 30, is part of a series of efforts aimed at strengthening the capacities of key stakeholders in the conservation and management of the World Heritage city of Zacatecas.
