45th Meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

During the 45th Meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Carlos Augusto Torres Pérez, Director of the IRPMZ, and Erika Rentería, Technical Secretary of the Institute, held a working meeting with Valerie Magar Meurs, Head of the ICCROM Programmes Unit, and Nicole Franceschini and Eugene Jo, Heads of the World Heritage Leadership Programme at the same International Centre. The session defined the priority topics related to Capacity Building in the subregion of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, which both institutions will address in 2024.

A working meeting was also held with Ms. Laura de Miguel, Focal Point for Spain and representative of the International Centre for Rock Art and the World Heritage Convention. The purpose of this meeting was to advance collaboration to translate the document "Guidance and Toolkit for Impact Assessment in a World Heritage Context" from English to Spanish. This project will also involve the IRPMZ, the Government of Chile, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and ICCROM. This effort will facilitate the implementation of this methodology in Spanish-speaking countries.
