The final evaluation of the IRPMZ 2014-2020
On September 3, Ms. Mechtild Rössler, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, informed Mexico of the results of the evaluation of the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas, as we had previously reported. We are sharing with you the letter and the final report from the members of the mission who carried out this task, Dr. Isabel Rigol, from Cuba, and Dr. Luis María Calvo, from Argentina. Both documents are available in English and Spanish. The proposed new agreement for the continuity of the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas is currently under review, and we expect it will be sent to UNESCO for approval shortly.
We thank you for the valuable support you have provided to the Institute in achieving such a positive outcome and for the enriching experiences highlighted by the UNESCO Mission, which have helped consolidate progress and overcome shortcomings and challenges. We wish you a 2022 filled with health, solidarity, and social appropriation of World Heritage, for the recovery of our countries and the rest of the world.
