30th Anniversary of its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List

One of Mexico's oldest cities, founded as Valladolid and later renamed Morelia, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its unique urban planning, with its Renaissance perspective, its valuable architectural heritage that blends diverse styles and construction phases, and its status as the birthplace of many prominent figures who participated in Mexico's War of Independence, have underpinned the city's Outstanding Universal Value.

As part of its commemoration, the Honorable City Council of Morelia has prepared a commemorative program from December 10 to 16, 2021, which can be followed in person at various locations throughout this beautiful city and subsequently through social media.

Congratulations, Morelia, on preserving a World Heritage Site that showcases Mexico and its communities!
