World Cities Day

In 2013, the United Nations approved the celebration of October 31st of each year as World Cities Day, to promote cooperation and address the challenges posed by the expansion of urban spaces and population worldwide.

It is worth noting that several of these cities have different levels of recognition, seeking to protect their cultural and historical character and their high value to the memory and identity of the States Parties where these conditions arose.

This is the case with the cities inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, which, due to their Outstanding Universal Value, exemplify human creation, the exchange of values ​​over long periods, and are representative of the application of science, technology, and art.
