Online Workshop: What is World Heritage?
Objective:
To disseminate the basic concepts of the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage among educational, social, and institutional sectors to promote the conservation of World Heritage and its role in the Sustainable Development Goals.
Target Audience:
Community leaders, high school and university students, teachers, researchers, cultural managers, public servants, and service providers who live in or near one of the sites inscribed on the World Heritage List in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Registration Period:
Registration will be open from October 23 to November 8, 2019. The list of accepted participants will be published on November 11.
Admission:
Ninety participants from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean will be accepted, based on the profile outlined above.
Description of the outcome:
The online sessions and fieldwork of each participant will culminate in the development of an analytical proposal or project related to World Heritage conservation and sustainable development.
