The “Manual and toolbox for impact assessments in a World Heritage context” is available in Spanish

After extensive international collaboration and technical coordination, the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas (RWHIZ - CC2 UNESCO) is pleased to announce the availability of the Spanish version of the “Handbook and Toolkit for Impact Assessments in a World Heritage Context,” originally published in English in 2022 by UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOMOS, and IUCN.
The translation into Spanish of this important document was made possible through the joint work of the Regional Institute of World Heritage in Zacatecas (RWHIZ - CC2 UNESCO), the Government of Chile and the Government of Spain, under the coordination of ICCROM and UNESCO, as part of international efforts to strengthen capacity building and facilitate access to fundamental tools for the proper implementation of the 1972 World Heritage Convention.
The availability of this material in Spanish represents a significant step toward making specialized technical content accessible to managers, authorities, specialists, academics, and communities connected to World Heritage in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and the Ibero-American region in general.
The Manual is one of the leading international references for guiding impact assessment processes for World Heritage properties, contributing to better decision-making regarding projects, interventions, and transformations that may affect the Outstanding Universal Value of sites.
At the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas (RWHIZ - CC2 UNESCO), the translation and dissemination of strategic materials in Spanish is a key part of its capacity-building work, seeking to reduce barriers to knowledge access and broaden the reach of key tools promoted by consultative bodies and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
