AWHEIC International Call 2026: Showcase your experience in heritage education

The Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas (RWHIZ) invites World Heritage site managers, academic institutions, cultural organizations, responsible authorities, educators, and heritage professionals from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to participate in the 2026 call for proposals for the Global Challenge for World Heritage Education Innovative Cases (AWHEIC), launched by the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITR-AP), a UNESCO Category 2 Center based in China.
This international initiative aims to identify, recognize, and disseminate innovative experiences in World Heritage education, promoting creative approaches that strengthen the understanding, social appropriation, and sustainability of inscribed properties and their values.
The call is open to projects, programs, methodologies, or educational practices that contribute to the transmission of World Heritage values, foster community participation, integrate new technologies, or propose innovative strategies for raising awareness and providing training on heritage.
From the Regional Institute of World Heritage in Zacatecas, we believe this platform represents a valuable opportunity to showcase the experiences developed in our subregion, as well as to strengthen collaborative networks and knowledge exchange at the international level.
