RWHIZ's parallel activities strengthen the dissemination and promotion of World Heritage in Guatemala

During the First National Meeting of World Heritage Managers in Guatemala, held on April 16 and 17, 2026, in Antigua Guatemala, the Regional World Heritage Institute in Zacatecas (RWHIZ) carried out a series of parallel activities aimed at strengthening the dissemination, communication, and access to resources related to World Heritage.

Among these activities was the recording of the second episode of the podcast "Echoes of Heritage," featuring the Minister of Culture and Sports, Luis Méndez Salinas, and the Vice Minister, Laura Coti Lux. This episode, which will be available toward the end of next month, will address reflections on World Heritage management in Guatemala.

Additionally, the first issue of the journal Ecos del Patrimonio was promoted by distributing copies to site managers and key stakeholders, with the aim of expanding its reach to the four sites inscribed on the World Heritage List in Guatemala: Tikal National Park, Antigua Guatemala, Quiriguá Archaeological Park and Ruins, and Tak’alik Ab’aj National Archaeological Park.

Similarly, the new RWHIZ website and its main digital tools were promoted, designed to facilitate access to specialized content, technical resources, and support materials for heritage management in the region.

The purpose of these complementary activities was to strengthen communication, training, and engagement processes with stakeholders involved in World Heritage management in Guatemala.
