Course on Digital Photogrammetry Applied to World Heritage in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Basic Level
The Regional Institute of World Heritage in Zacatecas, in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in Zacatecas, offers the course “Digital Photogrammetry Applied to Cultural Heritage,” designed to train participants in the use of photogrammetry for the three-dimensional digitization of real estate and built heritage. This technique allows for the creation of precise virtual copies of cultural assets for their study, conservation, and dissemination.
Documenting cultural heritage is fundamental for its protection against threats of deterioration or destruction. In this context, digital technologies, especially 3D digitization, have significantly improved the processes of recording and preserving heritage information.
Among these technologies, digital photogrammetry stands out for its versatility, low cost, and ability to generate detailed three-dimensional models from digital photographs and specialized software, contributing to the virtual preservation of historical and archaeological monuments.
