Digital Photogrammetry Course Applied to Cultural Heritage in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean: Drone Piloting and Recording Intermediate Level
The Regional Institute of World Heritage in Zacatecas (IRPMZ), in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) (Oaxaca and Zacatecas Centers), the Government of the State of Oaxaca, the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the State of Oaxaca (INPAC), and the Oaxaca de Juárez City Council, announces the implementation of an intermediate-level course focused on drone piloting and advanced photogrammetry for the protection of cultural assets.
Technological Innovation for Conservation
Following the success of the basic training sessions, this new module will allow participants to master aerial photography. The main objective is to train specialists capable of generating high-precision 3D documentation for sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Students will develop skills in:
Drone Operation: Specialized piloting for aerial surveys.
Photogrammetric Technique: Advanced image processing techniques.
Technical Application: Digital registration of historical real estate in Oaxaca.
A Program with Regional Impact
Since its inception in 2024, the Capacity Building Program for the Use of Digital Technologies has consolidated an unprecedented technical network in the subregion of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
